Keep the Positive Vibes Going!
Greetings Campbell Little League Community,

We have come to that point in the season where all the hard work and experience gained up to this point by the kids is being fully realized. It also means the competition is at its highest point. Majors Division playoffs start this week. Minors Division playoffs start on Saturday and Farm Division playoffs begin next Tuesday. Playoffs are more exciting for the players, coaches, and fans than regular season games. The weather is also usually hotter, crowds get larger, and the atmosphere becomes more intense.

We encourage competition between the players at Campbell Little League as a motivation for them to strive and do their best. There is no competition amongst adults at our games, however. Please keep in mind that as spectators at our games, we should remain positive and continue to cheer on and encourage the kids.

Further, our umpires, like our coaches, are volunteers, and they are doing their best, just like the players and coaches. Should there be a controversial call in a game, which is likely, it is for the managers, and no one else, to discuss with the umpires. Please let the players play, the coaches coach, and the umpires make the calls.

There is no room for spectators to engage in excessive sideline coaching, criticizing or disputing calls, or arguing with umpires, coaches, or each other. Such conduct disrupts the games, sets a poor example for the kids, and is embarrassing. Disruptive spectator behavior will not be tolerated.

We also encourage parents, when discussing the games on the car ride home, to maintain positivity and focus on the good plays, rather than on the negative aspects of the game or bad calls or managerial decisions. We want the players to feel good about their efforts, even when the score does not turn out their way.

Winning and losing is not our goal here. We want the kids to have fun playing baseball and enjoy their overall experience here. Please continue to help keep the vibe positive for everyone involved here at Campbell Little League.
